Timberwood church is excited to partner with parents as we help children in their Spiritual formation, relationship with Jesus! We have many opportunities to bring God into our lives each and every day; putting God first in all that we say and do. Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights we will be exploring the Big God Story through a small group and large group experience. Join us as we embark on this adventure of the spiritual development in the children at Timberwood Church! Our prayer for your family is to know Jesus, grow as a family in your relationship with Him, and be spiritual leaders in your sphere of influence. Join us Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights as we unpack the Big God Story. We will be exploring and experiencing God’s redemptive plan and our part in His story!
The Big God Story
We define the “The Big God Story” as God’s ENTIRE story. It incorporates all of history, stretching from Genesis to Revelation and beyond. Perhaps we are more familiar with fragmented stories of God, Jesus, or other people in the Bible, as if they were not part of a greater narrative. Now we have the opportunity to communicate each Bible story within the context of The Big God Story, so the Bible becomes much more than just a collection of short stories. Each lesson is centered on God and how He works in our lives.
God has woven His redemptive plan throughout time and we want kids to understand that they not only play a part in this incredible story, but are also part of a much larger faith community of past, present, and future believers.
Join us each Sunday 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. The Big God Story is available for children 3 years of age through 5th Grade Nursery is available for children 0–36 months
You will see and hear the word “TRU” this is the curriculum that will be used. They provide great insight, resources and tips to aide in the spiritual formation of your child. You will have access to Homefront weekly that will give practical insight to the weekly lessons and a Homefront monthly app for your iPod/iPad/Smartphone. On the go or at home, let’s bring God into our daily lives as a family. Spiritual formation is about helping kids build a life-long relationship with God. This means giving them a strong foundation in biblical knowledge and being intentional about creating space for kids to encounter the living God. Through the process of spiritual formation, we desire children to open their hearts to God, learn His voice, have a desire to obey Him, and to do so in the power the Holy Spirit offers to each believer. Join us Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm September – May Contact Amy LaBarre 218-967-8888 or send her an email.
Dedication at Timberwood Church is a family moment. It unites all of us as children who need their heavenly Father. By dedicating children to God we are acknowledging that they are gifts from God, and as a body of Christ, we commit in helping to raise your child so that they know how to serve and love Jesus Christ. Our hope is that children will respond by believing in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
If you would like to have your child dedicated, please email Amy LaBarre or give her a call at the church office at 218-967-8888.
Infant (birth through 17 months) Toddler (18–35months) Our youngest children will learn from the first moment in the nursery that Jesus loves them. Trained and caring volunteers will be available to care for, laugh with and play with your child. Volunteers will provide a story time, singing time, and snack time for children who are able to participate. *All of our children’s ministry volunteers are screened for safety purposes
The safety and security of our children and volunteers is essential at Timberwood Church.
All volunteers working with children are screened via background checks and comply with Timberwood Church statement of faith.
Fellowship One check-in and security system is used for all children birth through 5th grade. Each family will be given a security code which will correlate with the number on their child’s nametag. Children will only be released to a parent with a matching security code.
Each parent of a nursery age child 0-36months will receive a pager. These pagers work within the building and will vibrate and flash when paged. In the event that a child is in need of their parent, the parent will be paged.
To keep the children and volunteers healthy, children will not be permitted if they have experienced any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: Fever, chicken pox, pink eye (Conjunctivitis), discharge from eyes, ears or nose, vomiting or diarrhea, any rash (except diaper), persistent coughing or bringing up phlegm, diagnosed with/or being treated for a communicable disease.
Occasionally our classrooms will fill to capacity. Capacity is determined by two factors: Adult to child ratio, and size of the space. For the safety of everyone involved, we have specific ratios and space requirements according to the developmental needs of the children.
What is the check-in/check out procedure?
When you enter the church you will see the “Children’s Check In.” You will be welcomed and asked to fill out a simple form for the safety and security of your family. A nametag with a security code will be printed out for each child. Parents will receive a copy of the security code to use for picking up your child. All children’s ministry classrooms are located in the north hall of our campus. In the nursery and toddler rooms, you will receive a bin for your child’s diaper and bottle. Pagers will be given to all parents of children in the nursery rooms. After the service, return to your child’s classroom with your security tag to pick up your child.
What should I leave with my child?
For children in the nursery, you can leave a diaper, a pacifier, and a bottle or sippy cup in a bin provided for each child. Please label all items.
What if my child cries?
We understand that many children struggle with separation anxiety. We will do our best to provide whatever your child needs to have a great experience in the nursery. If your child is unable to be consoled after 10 minutes, we will page you.
Where do the children have their classes?
